Do you want to play Quarrel?

Quarrel | 12 shiny comments

That’s right – we’re looking for people of all sorts to act as Preview Players for Quarrel. What does that mean?

It means that we’re looking for around 5 people in each of July, August, September and October (all in 2009) to come in to Denki Towers in Dundee (see map below) to play a game of Quarrel. You’ll only have to come in once – you don’t need to commit to anything beyond a couple of hours of your time. While you play, we’ll be watching you. We don’t mean that in a creepy way, but more in a ‘looking out for you’ manner. We want to see how you approach the game, how you play it, what annoys you and what makes you smile. There’ll also be a short interview after you’ve played.

If you’re interested, then you should take the Denki Or Not test and register your interest as a Quarrel Preview Player. Once you’ve gone through this process, we’ll get back to you to see if you make the final shortlist!

One thing: you’ll need to make your own way to Denki Towers (on a weekday). Once you’re here, we’ll take great care of you though. With tea and cakes and such.

What’s in it for you? The chance to play Quarrel before the rest of the world, for one thing. It’s also an opportunity to influence the game. And perhaps you’ll get a Denki goodie bag.

What are you waiting for? Take the test!

I’m not sure if anyone’s noticed yet, but that map doesn’t point to our office. At least,not any office I’m aware of!

It’s not far off, but I’d not recommend using it for navigating your way here.

This is a bit closer:

Aw man… :P

Maybe I’ll consider a week in Scotland for my holidays… :D

David says:

@Colin – it was more to show where Dundee was for our international readers rather than the individual office, more detailed directions to which would be provided. The scale hadn’t come out right, so I’ve fixed that – thanks for the extra link. :-)

Sounds like it could be a fun day. Any idea what days you’re looking for people. I could always take a day off to come up and see you but I’d need to book the holiday!

David says:

@Badger: I recommend you take a week to Scotland :-)

@Neil: The best idea is just to apply, then we’ll figure out what days work best between the applicants – we don’t have specific days lined up at the moment. We should hopefully be able to get you enough notice to book a day off!

@David: Man… That’s really tempting. It’s one part of the UK that I really wanted to visit… (it all started with a fascination from “Highlander” when I was a kid). I’ve been to England twice, but never Scotland…

I’m going to count my pennies as I’m in a bit of a tight budget right now. But it’d be a really cool idea since Dundee itself seems like a melting pot for the creative medium.

Damn you for tempting me…………

David says:

@Badger: Oops, sorry ;-)

@Colin & David:

Plus… Thanks to that second link, I traveled through your city for like, a hour… In 360ยบ.

Love the architecture!

…Damn you all. ;)

Marky says:

So long as it isn’t Dundee in South Africa, it shouldn’t be too hard to find! xD

Badger says:

Yeah… I’ll keep my ear out for gunshots and raids and such. lol If I don’t see any of those, I’ll probably be in the right Dundee!

Marky says:

Gunshots and raids? I said Dundee, not Glasgow! xD

Badger says:

That bad there too???!!!

I thought that it was only like that here, in Portugal!!
